After a few days, Paul said to Barnabas: Let us return to see the brethren in every city where we have announced the word of the Lord, and let us see what they are. Barnabas also wanted to take John, named Mark. Paul kept insisting that they not take him with him, who had left them in Pamphylien and had not gone to work with them. And there was a disagreement so violent that they separated from each other, and Barnabas took Markus and sailed for Cyprus. Paul chose Silas and went away, being hired by the brethren to the lord`s grace. The way to avoid quarrels and disagreements is to make sure you think about the right things and be careful with what you say. Your words are powerful, and if they are mishandling, you can stir up arguments. We also have a lot of guidance from the Bible on how we can behave when we find out we are in the middle of an argument. After all, you should never lose sight of the importance of forgiveness and restoration. Relationships must be maintained, and once you get rid of weeds, you must feed them with tenderness and care. Praying for those with whom we disagree, including those who have offended us, or who are so far removed from our vision that they feel like they are living on another planet — that is what we are offered. If we pray for our enemies, God can change them, but he will change us. That does not mean that our views will change, but it does mean that we will probably have more calm in the situation. But the testimony I have is greater than that of John.

For the works that the Father has given me to accomplish them, the works I do bear witness to me that the Father sent me. And the Father who sent me took the testimony of me from me. You have never heard his voice, you have never seen his face, and you do not have his word in you, because you do not believe the one he sent. Having complaints is already a defeat for them. Why don`t you suffer badly? Why don`t you be cheated? When Jesus had spoken these words, he looked up to heaven, and said, Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, so that the Son may glorify you, for you have given him authority over all flesh, to give eternal life to all those whom you have given him.
